Sweetgrass Braid
Sweetgrass is highly prized by Native Americans who refer to it as the hair of Mother Earth. Sweetgrass Braid is burnt to cleanse space ready for prayer, to cleanse the aura and to call in spirit guides and positive energies.
To use simply light the tip of the braid and allow it to burn in a bowl or shell (often Abalone is used). Alternatively you could cut a small section to burn with a mixture of other herbs. Sweetgrass does not produce lots of smoke when it burns but it gives off a beautiful swwet aroma. You can also hang a Sweetgrass braid over the front door to protect your house and bless all who enter or hang it in your car for protection.
