Possibly one of the most distinctive smells in the field of essential oils. A very powerful sweet lemony scent that most people associate as an insect repellant. Citronella Essential Oil is obtained from a scented grass that grows wild and is cultivated in Sri Lanka and other tropical areas, It is usually a yellowish brown, with a very powerful lemony scent. The main chemical constituents are citronellal and geraniol, with traces of other chemicals which vary as several varieties of the grass are used. Also said to be good for those that suffer from excessive sweating which is why you will find it in most deodrants.
