Moon Waters Essences

Approximately every 28 days the Moon completes a cycle of birth, growth fruition, assessment and death as she dances around the Sun and the Earth. We are intimately linked with these Moon cycles. The Earth’s tides, the weather and farming are all affected by the Moon’s movement.

The Earth is often known as ‘Mother’ and the Moon is known as ‘Sister’. The strength of Sister Moon’s presence heightens our instincts, intuition and emotional state. Women are especially sensitive to her nature as she so strongly reflects the menstrual cycle within her heavenly dance.

Moon Waters Essences comprise the vibrations of the phases of Moon’s journey, spun together with sacred water, crystal vibrations and blended oils. You can use an essence whenever you wish to bring that aspect of Moon energy into your life. Read through the properties of each phase of Sister Moon’s cycle to help you select the most appropriate one.

New Moon – Beginnings

The New Moon represents the beginning of a new lunar cycle. It brings with it energy that supports the start of new things such as projects, a new business, a new home or the signing of contracts. New Moon is the time to begin positive change within yourself, your home or your relationships. New Moon energy supports all things that require growth – like strength, self esteem, even bank balances! Other associations with the New Moon are children, the maiden aspect of the Triple Goddess, the transition from dark to dawn, from Winter to Spring, from Earth to Air and the journey from North to East.

Waxing Moon – Growth

When the growing moon is seen it is known as the Waxing Moon. This is a time of increased energy and action, the growth of seeds planted. The Waxing Moon is a time of growth, of friendships, money, romance, energy to give and nurture others. It is a time of pleasure and play. Other associations of the Waxing Moon are youth, fertility, the maiden aspect of the Triple Goddess, the transitions from Spring into Summer, from dawn to midday, from Air to Fire and the journey from East to South.

Full Moon – Fruition

The night of the Full Moon is when the energy to manifest reaches its peak. At this time Moon’s power ripens those things that have been planted and are growing. This is a time to harvest Moon’s energy and draw it into yourself. This energy gives us sustenance for the return journey and provides growth energy for seeds that are still deeply hidden.

Full Moon is a time of heightened instinct and psychic insights. Many women feel the need for female company at this time as Moon encourages them to celebrate womanhood and mothering. Other associations of the Full Moon are fertility, ripening, birth, the mother aspect of the Triple Goddess, the transitions from summer towards first harvest, from midday to dusk, from Fire towards Water and the journey from South to West.

Waning Moon – Assessment

Waning Moon is a time of retreat and letting go. It is a time for assessment. Now is the time to reflect on what has happened so far during the current cycle – we can acknowledge what has been achieved and recognise what has not ripened. This is a time of return to the wisdom within, our mothers, our wise women, our blood.

Now is the time when we can we learn from the things that worked and why they worked. It is also time to understand why things didn’t work, to consider what can be done in order to achieve our goals. Do I need to make changes within myself? What action should I take? Do I need more time for the goal to be achieved? What do I need to let go of? What do I need to forgive? What needs to be nurtured?

Other associations of the Waning Moon are the wise woman aspect of the Triple Goddess, the transitions from emotions to stillness, Water towards Earth and the journey from West to North.

Dark Moon – Letting go

Dark Moon exists for only a brief period during Moon’s dance with the Sun. This is a moment of time that represents the most powerful aspect of Moon’s cycle. She ceases to be illuminated by Sun and is totally alone and herself, her dance is hidden. It is in this time that the wisdom, along with the seed gathered, the fears felt, the joys experienced during the moon’s dance are brought to your sacred place within. It is in this place that all things are laid out in truth.

This is a time to surrender, a time for no action, a time for stillness. It is the moment of death of the previous moon dance, the death that brings with it the ecstatic potential of birth. In this moment linear time ceases to exist. This is the time of spirit, beyond and untouched by heaven or earth. It is deeply hidden and most sacred.
